Baffled by ASA - no clouds at all between EGPK and LPPT

Featured Replies

This is going to sound flippant but quite frankly I don

Do I have to create a Graphic Snapshot before I can see any weather? Is it really possible that today there were really no clouds at all between Scotland and Portugal?
No need to create a Snapshot to use ASA. This is only relevant if you own a graphics package (such as X Graphics) that you want to integrate with ASA.An easy way of verifying that ASA does create weather in FS is to move your aircraft to an airport that has some wind, cloud and rain (you can use the Wx Finder for that). Wait a couple of minutes for the weather to be applied and check if what you see matches the metar.Cheers,Tom

Doesn't matter, ASA will still give you weather without using the snapshot feature (unless there is some installation problem, of course). Once you have that part working, you can start reading about snapshots again (took me a little while to get my head around it, too, but quite easy once it clicks).Tom

Make sure you have the latest FSUIPC installed if you're using ASA for FS9. This caught me out at first and I couldn't see any weather.
