Aliasing a 2D panel while leaving the VC alone?

Recommended Posts

How would I set up a panel so that it uses the VC it came with but utilizes a different 2D panel? I am trying to merge the PMDG 1900D 2D panel with the AFG King Air... I can't alias the whole panel to the 1900D because that just leaves me with missing gauges in the VC. I tried messing around with the panel.cfg but can't figure it out. Thanks!

You have to create a custom panel.cfg file in which you've simply copied the one you want to use for the 2d panel, then copy/paste the [VCockpitnn] sections from the original panel.cfg file.

To put Bill's suggestion the other way round you could simply copy the relevant code from the AFG panel.cfg (the code apearing in the relevant Windowxx panel definition), and past it into your 1900D panel.cfg file. You could comment out the existing Windowxx definition and replace it with the one from the AFG panel.cfg.You'd have to make sure the relevant gauge files were available, either pasted into the 1900D Panel folder, or the root Gauge folder, and you'd have to make the relevant bitmaps available too.I hope this helps.Mike.
