I apologize for this stupid question up front!

Could someone give me instructions for how to control things like flaps, gear, autopilot, brakes etc...from a joystick? I see the keymapping function in the pmdg menu but it doesnt recognize joystick presses?this is for the 747-400x thanks, guthrie zuehlke

Use the MSFS keycommand menu to assign joystick commands, which is how I do it. You can also use register copy of FSUIPC to link keycommands to game controller inputs.

Guthrie go to the settings menu in FS9 or FSX and click the control you want to assign, press a joystick button to assign it. You can also assign a throttle axis the same way if you have one on the joystick from the axis menu in settings.I think there is a limit of 32 buttons but hardly any joystick would have that many.No question is stupid by the way, we all had to ask them at one time or other.John Ellison
