February 1, 200917 yr The holding page defaults to time and I can't find how to enter a distance for holding?Because there is no distance in holding - it is all based on timing per rules in aviation.EDIT: in some instances "distance" holding is theoretically possible though not sure if this is something an airliner like MD-11 would ever be asked to do. February 1, 200917 yr You can indeed to asked to hold with a fixed inbound distance in any aircraft. You can enter time or distance. Time is entered in minutes, and distance in nm, following a slash (eg /10).
