February 7, 200917 yr I would appreciate receiving any (particularly US) flight plans that anyone has created with the FMS. I am attempting to learn the use of this instrument, but can't seem to get it to work right (too many discontinuities). Can anyone share with me ? By the way, if I could manage to create a valid FP, how do I go about saving it in the proper format to reuse later ?Thanks,Dave Hinson David Hinson
February 9, 200917 yr Hi Dave,I haven't seen I-fly flight plans available anywhere, but it might be worth looking in Avsim etc. It's not too hard to make your own once you get the hang of it. To get rid of a discontinuity, select the waypoint following onto your scratchpad and move it up so that it replaces your discontinuity. Get the basic route first from Vroute (downloadable) or one of the Vatsim ARTCC sites or VATroute, or many other places. You can get a lot of very helpful information from PMDG's 744 tutorials on programming and flying the plane (look for their type rating course lessons) as the I-fly operations manual is rather limited to a naming of parts... definitely worth downloading and close enough to I-fly to be almost fully applicable. Also have a look at this very helpful tutorial (for PMDG again): http://www.scribd.com/doc/2327687/PMDG-747...al-EGLL-to-KLAXOnce you finish a flight plan in I-fly you can easily save it by going to FMC Menu Simu then type in a name such as KJFKKLAX and save as. You can load it later by typing in the name of the flight plan in the co-route line.

It is by Ingo Stoeckel and I found it in AVSIM files (called ConvertPLN). Also, I did download the PDMG documents and found them very helpful. Also, thanks for the procedure for saving iFly fp's. I will use it if I am ever able to produce a fp from the FMS. :( Dave Hinson David Hinson
