Sky Simulations MD-11 Review

All very informative. However.......nothing tells us how it really performs. Does it run like a dog, or a greyhound?During taxiing from the freighter terminal to our runway, with building storms selected, all sliders maximum and BluePrint Simulations KMEM installed, I noticed an average of 16-18 FPS doesn't tell us anything, unless we've all got a Dual Intel P4-Xeon 3.06Ghz4Gb RAM DDR 533MhznVidia 7800GS+ 512Mb AGPRAID-0 HDD's - SCSI 340Gbsetup just like yours, with building storms selected, all sliders maximum and BluePrint Simulations KMEM installed.Just in case we haven't, why not provide some standardised figures, say compared to the stock CRJ700 in the same conditions on your system, so we can then work out how it'll perform on our own systems? (Hint, hint).

Very Good review very detailed.Good decision to not compare it to PMDG, its clearly not in the same ballpark features wise nor price wise.I agree also SkySim can be tough to get ahold of. They have a support email, but good luck finding a link to it fromtheir main web page.Regards.Ernie.

Early indications are that the Maddog 2008 Professional is indeed a 'dog', unlike the Coolsky MD80 which is a greyhound.Now, all we need in order to derive a score and fit them in the index, is the same screenshot with your Microsoft CRJ700, because that's the standard plane to which we relate everything else. Please could you let me have that?

Thanks, Angelique.That gives the Sky Simulations MD-11 an Index value of 63; so, on average, it'll run at the 63% of the FPS of the stock CRJ700.Which is better than most of the commercial airliner products out there, apart from the Coolsky ones, although perhaps not entirely surprising given its limited functionality.Petraeus Index - Airliners
