I just purchased Xplane 9 the other day, Wont get it until next week. However, I did play around with the Demo and was impressed with it. I am an FSX user who wants to give Xplane a try. My questions are:What is the best dedicated forum for Xplane users?Is xplane created by one guy, or is there a team of programmers working on it. I keep reading about Austin Myers. Is he the sole creater and owner of xplane?I read about converting MS flightsim scenery to xplane. Does this work? and what issues does this cause, if any? Thanks in advance for any answers.Rob

I am new to it also-time to get this forum going!Answers as far as I know:1)http://x-plane.org/2) There seem to be a small team of a few3) I tried the program fsimp.http://www.fsimp.com/It seemed to work fairly well with the latest release but once I upgraded to the beta (for a lot of good reasons imho) it didn't seem to work anymore-memory errors.My advice is to stay with it a while-a lot of small things start to become apparent only after really putting it thru its paces.

Thanks Geofa,I plan to spend a lot of time with it over the next couple of weeks to really see what its true potential is. I still use FSX and probably always will, but its good to have something else to use as well. From what ive seen of xplane in screen shots and the demo, it seems to have a lot of potential. Im looking forward to see what xplane offers down the road. I agree, we need to get this forum going. there is so much to learn about this program. I guessone of the things I like about it, is I know so little about it and its fun to learn something new.Rob

Go to "About"->"About X-Plane"The main team is composed of 4 people:Austin Meyer does flight/system model and general programming;Ben Supnik ( http://xplanescenery.blogspot.com/ ) does some general programming and all the graphics engine stuff (scenery system, panels, etc.)Sergio Santagada does art assets (basically textures)Robin Peel provides data on airports and navdata ( http://data.x-plane.com/ )A couple of other guys do icons, intros, porting, etc.Marco
