February 18, 200917 yr Hi,My questions is the following, do I need to do anything special to maximize performance after I install Win XP 64? I have installed it and FSX, with all my AI traffic and get the same performance as in Win XP 32. I thought I saw something about largememoryaddress or something like that. Help please. My computerCPU = E6850 3.0 GhzRam = 4 Gigs regular KingstonGPU = Nvidia 8800 GTS 640mbHDD = 40gig 7200 rpm O/S = Win XP 64 bitAI = 160 real airlines accross the globe....Thanks!
February 18, 200917 yr Switching to XP x64 won't really give you better performance. It just allows the use of more RAM, it will actually use your 4GB of RAM, whereas XP x86 (32 bit) only used about 3.25 GBSo once you get RAM usage past 3.25 ish you should see less swapping to the hard drive etc..... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
