February 27, 200917 yr Hello,I've done a search of the forum and the file library but nothing came up, so I thought I'd post here.I remember a while ago I had something for FSX which, with a key combination, showed the names of airports in the sim, just like it does for AI traffic. I can't remember where I got this file from, or if it even was a file! Is there a tweak or file that will enable my sim to do this? I've moved to a new computer and seemed to have lost whatever tweak I had in the process.Your help is much appreciated!
February 27, 200917 yr Airport label feature must be MANUALLY added to the Standard.xml file in the Controls folder (under the FSX.CFG folder)Open standard.xml and add an entry:near the top so you can find it and UNDER this KEYBOARD_MAIN entry...add this entry; substitute any unused key combination if you already have Shift+U assigned... <Descr>Controls Mapping File</Descr> <Filename>Standard.XML</Filename> <SimControls.Map> <Name>KEYBOARD_MAIN</Name> <Entry> <Key>SHIFT+U</Key> <Down>TOGGLE_AIRPORT_NAME_DISPLAY</Down> </Entry> save and close and the feature will then be available. Make a copy so you can recover it next time.Loyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
February 28, 200917 yr Hi FolksFor info -Shift+U is incompatible with Acceleration.Recommend using CTRL+SHIFT+PPlease see - FSDeveloper - Wiki - Key Mapping (FSX) FSInsider - Airport Labels - An Undocumented FeatureHTHATBPaul ODG Preview
