March 6, 200917 yr Hi EveryoneI`m Planning to upgrade my x45 mobo 4Gig of ddr2(800)from Q6600([email protected])with a gts 640 8800(nvidia) to..Qx9650(3.00to@4xx?)with a nvidia 295 and 4Gig ddr3(1333)Will it be wort it?please if anyone can give a straight adviceMost thankfullyRegardsStef AMD 9950X3D, Nvidia 5080, custom-made liquid-cooled OEM Virpl throttle, Control panel, and Collective Gufighter flightstick
March 6, 200917 yr Have had the 295 it sucks since 95% all games dont realy support multi GPU cards and they have something called micro lags (don't know if thats the name in english). Buy the best Single Card --> 285.The CPU well if you have the Money for a EE go for it but I think they are not woth it. If I had to buy a new CPU --> dual core since quad core isnt supportet by any Game.
March 6, 200917 yr If I had to buy a new CPU --> dual core since quad core isnt supportet by any Game. Not true. FSX will make use of all cores on a quad.
March 6, 200917 yr Just asigned it to Core 3 less FPS. Then added Core 2 and I have the same FPS as with Cores 0 and 1. So it is Dual Core Optimized. Or do I have to have SP2?

March 6, 200917 yr You'll find more info on the subject of multiple cores here http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=241915Here is another thread regarding performance in FSX. Might be useful if you want to optimize your system for FSX: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=239962
March 6, 200917 yr WOW! THANK YOU! On some misssions I get peaks of 100 FPS now damn nice! Avg. is about 25-35 at a Airport and over 50 over sea/land.
March 7, 200917 yr Author Hi I rather keep my x38 mobo and go as fast as i canoptions1)ddr32)cpu (I`m allready running my q6600 [email protected])how far can I OC a9650 usefully3) gpu (8800 could be used for a second monitor) or..since I`m running a cross fire mobo will be worth to add 2 ATIin xfiremem lags (oom) ctd`s do happen with heavy iron(I`m using Nick n guide)Thanks all of youStef AMD 9950X3D, Nvidia 5080, custom-made liquid-cooled OEM Virpl throttle, Control panel, and Collective Gufighter flightstick

Bert
March 8, 200917 yr Author hi BertRe OOM errors, do you have the /3GB set in boot.ini?....,yes(as posted by NN)I have to find out where the bottleneck lies1st upgrade mem to 1066 fsb(ddr2..only option)2nd ,video card the cpu`s prices are a little to high at the moment (9850 x= $1300)since the q6600 can be [email protected] like the 9650 stock speedLet`s see...............Thanks againStefan AMD 9950X3D, Nvidia 5080, custom-made liquid-cooled OEM Virpl throttle, Control panel, and Collective Gufighter flightstick
March 9, 200917 yr Author Hi folksAdded a gtx 285(1gig) and 4 gigs of ddr2 1066= BIG improvement 1st the 285 looks great it helps to overcome the cpu burden2nd Speed is up 15/25 not a great deal ..but everything looks twice as goodResult; a more fluid and better (MUCH better) visualsa 3ghz cpu+3+ gig of mem+1gig of a good gpu should be THE yardstick for fsx (and the x-plane will make your jaw drop)Hope it helpsRegardsStefan AMD 9950X3D, Nvidia 5080, custom-made liquid-cooled OEM Virpl throttle, Control panel, and Collective Gufighter flightstick
