FMC Question

On a number of SIDs and STARs (747-400X), I have seen the following type of entry:137* TRK(VECTORS)I think what this is saying is to fly magnetic heading 137 but for how long or until what happens ? Should I expect vectors to the next waypoint ? But when flying a full IAP, ATC (Radar Contact in this case) provides the altitude clearance(s) but does not provide vectors (as expected) so this entry puzzles me. If anyone can tell me what this means and how to handle it I would appreciate it.Zach

It Means Vectors, works on VATSIM, IVAO and of course real world. If your not using a true dynamic atc system or flying online and not covered by atc just perform a Direct To the next waypoint.Rob

Thanks Rob ! Going Direct To the next waypoint is what I have been doing as a workaround but I had thought maybe there is some other way to handle this with my current setup.Zach

I replace the vectors command in my customized sidstars with realistic ATC routing, and provide a copy of the original for use with a dynamic ATC. If you are flying in the US I hope you give them a try.
