Water textures for the UK

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend me a set of water textures that suit the UK well? I've tried just about every kind i can find over the years but none have come close to simulating the murky green/brown colour of the UK's water. The dark water textures from REP have been my choice up until now as they have the least cheesy look to them. I'd really wish someone was able to find a way to import the FSX water into FS9 in the same way that the FEX SHD clouds have been able to!

Haha I thought someone would ask this. It's pretty simple. You need to have FEX with the SHD pack installed first then you just set the FSX install path to your FS9 directory. Next go to the install options in FEX and select to install only the cloud textures. It's important that you deselect the water/sky ect as these will crash fs9. Set the texture compression to 32bit and not DXT1 which is default and set the resolution for cumulus and cirrus to 1024x1024. lastly just choose which clouds you want and hit install!
