May 10, 200323 yr There is definitely something broken with the way IE6 caches pages. With many pages (but not all) at AVSIM, when I click on "Back" , instead of instantly going back to the previously viewed page, IE6 redownloads the page. This also occurs when saving a page.I downloaded the page about the RCS/MAAM dispute -- which took a long time to dowwnload. So I saved it to read later while offline. It didn't exactly redownload ALL of the content -- but it still took quite a long time to save it and the lights on my external modem indicated that it was downloading something. The OPERA browser doesn't do this -- it goes back to the previous page instantly . But I hate the way in which OPERA saves pages - so I prefer to use IE .If only I could get the cache to work as it should!!Any ideas? Thanks Barry
May 11, 200323 yr Umm yea, don't use that abortion called IE. Use Mozilla, it saves pages just fine for me :)
May 11, 200323 yr Or you can go in and clear out your temporary internet files. It amazes me how so many people seem to have problems w IE6. Also, you are running the cumulative patch for IE6 correct?. Try these before beating something w a stick that isn't dead. LoL. Only thing nicer than IE is Netscape 7. Now if only I could remove IE without installing the dreaded SPK1.Bobby
