April 25, 200917 yr I have an A318, and one or two other a/c probably, which, when the brakes are gently applied, react by bobbing up and down, along the fuselage axis, like one of those nodding dogs people used to put onto the back window ledge of their cars the 1970s. (perhaps some people still do)..Is there a setting in the aircraft.cfg file that I can change to eliminate/reduce this (I looked in Aircraft_Container_SDK, but didn't see anything - could have missed it), or is it part of the aircraft mdl itself? Thanks,Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
April 25, 200917 yr Commercial Member Um... while I can't speak for all aircraft and the amount of movement... the 'bobbing' shouldn't be removed completely. The nosegear do indeed compress when brakes are applied on most aircraft. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
April 25, 200917 yr Hello,Check again your SDK informations...AFAIK it's possible to modify this behaviour in the "contact points" string in aircraft.cfg.AFAIK static compression .. compression ratio .. damping ratio .. can be the parameters to be modified...Results can varies. And indeed .. many aircrafts shows exagerated behaviour (damping) when brakes action .. even at very low taxi speedRegards.
April 25, 200917 yr Author I'll check again in the SDK, thanks. I don't want to remove all movement, just reduce it to proper levels; at the moment it looks a bit silly..Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
April 25, 200917 yr Author Yes, I didn't look very effectively, did I? I have changed some values in accordance with the Aircraft Container SDK and things look a lot more realistic. Thanks,Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
