Hi Guys, I'm running the Windows 7 beta. I have an ATI 4870 1GB graphics card and the latest W7 9.4 drivers. I can't get VSync to work in FSX without using D3D Overrider and FSX DX10 mode. This is not satisfactory because of the faults in DX10 that become more and more obvious and annoying the longer I use it.Has anyone had any problems getting VSync to work under W7 with nVidia cards, or is this just an issue with ATI cards?Thanks,Noel.

Vsync will NEVER work in DX10 Preview with any video card period because Vsync is under exclusive control of FSX in this mode (this cannot be overrode with any application). FSX would have to be recoded in order for Vsync to work with DX10 Preview. Vsync, however, can be forced on in DX9 mode. There used to be issues with the ATI cards under DX9. I'm not sure that this is still the case.

Yes, I know VSync doesn't work under DX10, at least with the Catalyst drivers. It DOES work in DX10 with D3DOverrider! Don't tell me it doesn't if you haven't tried it! Just an update, I ran down the Catalyst 9.5 drivers andinstalled them. They were no different to the 9.4 drivers, at least in terms of the VSync issue with my 4870 card. So the next thing to try is W7 RC-1 rather than the W7 beta. If that doesn't work, I'm gonna have to trash the ATI card and go back to nVidia, as VSync is a critical issue with Track IR.Cheers,Noel

I have Vsync in full screen mode with my 4870 in W7 RC. Does not work in windowed mode but that was the case even in XP...
