TQ6 Throttle with PMDG products

Featured Replies

I know this particular tread has been raised before but I would really like any feedback from people using a TQ6 throttle with PMDG products and FSX. I received mine the other day and up until now it has been a nightmare to calibrate and program with MD11 and 747-400X. Issues such as spoilers not working and throttles unable to be moved to full or minimum thrust. Add the constant spikes from the controls and the whole eposide of buying this throttle has turned into a disaster. It was bought with the new turboprop plane in mind as the levers can be interchanged to simulate different control functions. Before I forget I run Vista 64, 4 Gig of RAM QX6800 @ 3.2 GHZ 280 gtx Andrew Dixon

I use the TQ6 since yesterday on my MD-11 with FS2009. After doing a search on this forum I found some tips & tricks to get things working. One thing to do is not(!) use the FS options to control the throttle...it's better to use the GF software for that.Flaps should nog be used via de GF software but via the FS software. There's a debate wether the spoilers should be used via GF of via FS software. Most important...let one of both control the TQ6 per item..so FS controls the spoiler & flaps while GF controls the throttles. Also delete all unneccesary assignments in FS that are linked to your TQ6. I found them all over the place and deleted them all so I ended up with a nice clean config.I alsno noticed that having FSUIPC (registered) working will make things work much better. You can set the idle and max thrust via FSUIPC. Now my throttle incl reverse work flawlessly.
