May 26, 200917 yr Hi,I have been getting this problem always in the FSX since the first installed. the ATC menu doesn't show reply option after the first contacted with the tower under IFR, then the ATC menu doesn't appear any reply option so there is no way can talk back with the tower, and i have tried many ways such as switch the frequency, com 1 or 2 back and forth, close the ATC window then re-open, or even reload the IFR, but the menu just doesn't com back with the selections. There were only very very few times the ATC working properly, it is because I clear the IFR first and then create a new plan, but this method still fails most of time, can somone help me with this problem, is there any file missing, I even uninstalled SP2 and applied the repairing from FSX CD, then install SP2, but still not solving the problem. it is impossible for me to fly without ATC under IFR. thanks.Nick
May 27, 200917 yr I gather from your description that you didn't install SP1 before you installed SP2. I could be wrong, in which case I don't know how to help you. But the SP2 installation procedure consists of installing FSX RTM first, run it at least once, install SP1 and run it again, then install SP2. If you've got Accelleration then both SP1 and SP2 will be installed together, but you'll also need to ensure that either Acceleration or the service packs are installed on a fairly clean RTM installation. This means that you'll need to install them before a lot of your add-ons.I hope this helps. Mike Beckwith
May 27, 200917 yr There is a way around your problem - I know this because it occasionally happens to me with FSX - what you do is tune the standby Com 1 channel to just a random frequency and then switch it over to active. Because FSX wants to assist you with auto-tuning frequencies, it then recognises your radio is not properly tuned for your flight, and will give you the option to tune to the correct frequency in the ATC window, when you pick that option and tune in, the ATC response you were looking for will be listed.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
