Hi there,Firstly my congratulations on a fantastic product that I am getting much enjoyment from, all is working wonderfully apart from the XGauge component.Symptom: When XGauge is called up from within FSX, the gauge will appear, but I only get a black screen despite pressing the power button numerous times.Things I have tried: (many of the below items are from trawling various threads to get ideas of what to try...)- Un-installing and re-installing the XGauge components with the wizard.- Force High Priority Processes on and off- Running FSX with and without the Air Hauler addon- Minimising the ASA client on the map screen up and running FSX- Sending ASA to system with the map screen up and running FSX- Checking for problems with the inbuilt .NET Framework 2.0 component of Vista using command "stc \scannow" (no problems found)- Running all applications involved with ASA, XGauge and FSX in administrator mode (despite UAC being disabled on my system)- Installing the XGauge component in administrator mode (despite UAC being disabled on my system)- Changing various display settings inside and outside of FSX- Installed ASA build 431System and installation state:- FSX installed to seperate partition from OS in a user created Program Files folder, full path "D:\Program Files Vista (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X"- ASA installed to "D:\Program Files Vista (x86)\HiFi\ASA"- ASA version B431 (This was installed as part of my troubleshooting from the stock installation)- UAC is disabled- Vista up to date with SP 1 and all of the latest MS updates for all components- .NET Framework is up to version 3.5Addons installed:- Just Flight - Air HaulerSystem Spec:Vista Ultimate x64 edition SP1Intel QX6800 2.66GHz OC to 2.98GHz4Gb PC8500 1066Ghz MemoryAsus 8800 GTX 768mb Graphics card750Gb Seagate SATA II HDI hope this information is helpful, if there is anything else I can provide or do to progress the resolution of this please do let me know and I will do it at the earliest opportunity.Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advanceTerry "Stalintc" Courtney

Hi All,ASX installed for anyone? Also, sometimes if the registry path for FS is wrong this can happen. Thanks,
Hi Jim,Many thanks for your reply :( I do not have a copy of ASX, ive only really just found out about Active Sky so went for the highest possible option!I have checked the registry and all paths relating to FSX and its exe file and they are all correct. I have checked all of them, my F3 key is now wearing out :( CheersTerry

Hi,Uninstall XG using the Wizard.Install by right mouse clicking on the wizard and Run......As Administrator. Thanks,

- Installing the XGauge component in administrator mode (despite UAC being disabled on my system)
Already something I have tried as per my original post, but I have run through the process again with due care just now and still no difference.Just to clarify the gauge is behaving like it is not even taking my clicks, the power button does nothing, no messages or anything at all is displayed on the panels main screen. However the buttons do appear to be clickable because the "arrow" cursor will change to the "pointing hand" cursor. Thanks for your reply Jim :)CheersTerry

Hi,I understood that, but have you right mouse clicked on the icon and Run.... As Administrator. This is an elevated administrator mode under Vista. Thanks,

Hi JimSorry for the confusion, that is what I meant by administrator mode :) so in answer to your question yes I have.CheersTerry

Hi,OK thanks for the clarification. This one will need to wait for Damian as I am out of ideas. It will be a few days though. Thanks,

Hi Jim,Thank you for your help thus far! I look forward to Damians response on the matter. :( No problem waiting a few days, since the main bulk of the software being the weather system is working like a charm and is the main point of interest from ASA for me. Of course it will in the end be nice to examine the Xgauge too when we get this resolved.Just to note, there should also be a mail in your system from the fill-in tech support form with roughly the same date as my original post, since from reading other posts on this forum you find it useful to collate the issues in one place for others to view.I will bump this thread each week just to make sure it doesnt get missed as I get the feeling a few others reading here will be interested to see what the resolution is :( Again thanks for your input it is greatly appreciated.CheersTerry "Stalintc" Courtney

Weekly bump :( CheersTerry "Stalintc" Courtney

Hi Terry - stumbled across your thread on the ASX X-gauge problem which is what I am also experiencing - I've been e-mailing Jim back and forth and am too waiting to hear from Damian on a solution.Have you heard anymore or managed to resolve the issue?Would be interested in anything that you might have done.Cheers!Lyle

To everyone,I just installed ASA and tried to use Xgauge. Lot many of you I could not download the new imagerie.I use a VISTA client machine for ASA and a XP machine for FSX.After different trys (or tries) I finally got the Xgauge functioning after starting ASA as Administrator and more importantly giving ASA the path to the FSX data files and FSX program files. Maybe that is your problem ?RogerAntec P182A case, OCZ GameXtreme 700W PSU, Abit AW9D-Maw mother board, Intel Core 2 E6750/2.66GHz processor, Corsair 4Gb-800 DDR2 PC-6400 memory, 2x250GB WD Caviar SATA Hard Disk (RAID 0), EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB, DVD R/W NEC Sony AD7173A, Samsung 931BF 19" 2ms monitor, WD e-SATA external HD, Windows XP Professional.
