  1. I also had the message waiting for simulator. Checking and checking and checking but to no avail. Tried different options and reinstall ASNext. Same problem. Finally after several days and re checking again I noticed that the the simconnect in user/Uszername/appdata/roaming/microsoft/fsx did not contain the actual Simconnect.xml BUT içnstead a shortcut to the installation file. Once I corrected the error it worked perfectly. I am giving this info because it is easy to overlook the icon itself and realizing that it is in fact a shortcut. Roger
  2. To all, I received help from Damian (Active Sky) with this message in the HIFI forum: I was pointing to the wrong library. >> The FSX files define as disk X pointing to Master\Users\Roger\Documents The second prompt is for the FSX appdata location. In this case it should be Master\Users\Roger\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX << I hope this information may be helpful to somebody else. Roger
  3. I have installed ASN as an upgrade (ASA 2012 previously) ASN is on a Vista PC FSX is on a Windows 7 PC When I start ASN I receive FSX Application Data not Found. Please specify the correct path. Which I do but then I receive again the Data not Found and ASN closes. FSX is on the X drive FSX Application Data on the Y drive I am sure they are correctly specified as FS Commander and Aivlasoft EFB (both on the Vista PC) can reach them. Can anybody suggest me a way out of this problem ? Roger
  4. John, I just read your september 1 note. It must look like a miracle. Carpe Diem ! Take what you can. I am REALLY happy for you and I am also happy to know why RC development is halted. If your happiness and your family prevents any new development so be it ! No regrets. I had 50 years of happy marriage. Now my wife is in a wheelchair. But we are still happy and have many plans for the rest of our life. I can understand what you and your family must feel. Roger
  5. I am not that sure. How will the users of FSX renew in the long run ? How will the general users will learn about FSX with no publicity from MS selling FSX. I am 75 years old. When I die who will take my place as FSX user ? I agree Flight Simulation is great but it seems such a limited goup of people in the general PC users.
  6. Jim, I am reinstalling FSX from scratch. As you saw in another topic I had some difficulties with FSW De Luxe and Acceleration and SDK. But now apparently everything is in order. I will now continue with all the add-ons. Luckily I do not need to redownload the products. They are backed-up on an external disk. Roger
  7. Jim, I found thissolution on a French site. I applied it and it WORKED! Thank you.
  8. 2 years ago I already had the same problem while shifting from an old PC to a new one. I have once again the same problem while upgrading from an old PC to a new one. I cannot find out how I solved the problem. So I need help again. I replaced my old PC with a new one. FSX is no more on the old PC (I removed the disk and installed it on the new PC after deleting the FSX folder). I first installed FSX and SDK on a seperate physical disk from the system. It requested the product key and accepted it. I can fly without problem. BUT when I installed Acceleration first everything seems to be normal, I received the installation O.K. It did not request the Acceleration Product key. Now when I want to fly I receive the message: We are sorry, an unexpected error occured which is preventing product activation from beeing complete. Error code: 1-80004005 I searched for answers on the net, I tried to repair FSX and/or Acceleration, uninstall FSX and SDK and Acceleration, reinstall them. Each time first FSX is O.K. then as soon Acceleration is added I receive the error message. I flyed 30 minutes then the game stopped with the same error message. I tried the delayed registration. As soon I wanted to install Acceleration it request that I restart FSX and enter the Product Code and that was accepted by FSX. But again when Acceleration was installed I received the same error message. The PC operating system is Windows 7 Premium 64 bits. The new PC is an ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe with an Intel I7 2700 CPU not overclocked (yet).
  9. Word Not Allowed, Thank you. I still need to change my signature with the new specs of the PC. Roger
  10. I am wondering if with I7 2700 CPU clocked at 4.8 if it is still valid to stop unecessary services when assigning a dedicated processor to FSX. Does the CPU cycles for windows matter that much with FSX ?
  11. Well I made up my mind. Step 1 I am going to install Win7 Premium on a SSD 128 Gigabyte and keep FSX on the WD black as it is today. Step 2 latter on I will buy a second SSD 258 Gigabyte and migrate FSX on it;
  12. Mike, Thank you for your comments. It is true that when one doesn't know what he is missing (SSD) he doens't see why to upgrade. But once it is done one wonders how he missed that. Are you sure the IVY will be in the same price range than the Sandy ? My problem is that I am now out of FSX PC. I am presently using my laptop. Roger
  13. I will soon need to install W7 in a new PC. Presently FSX is on a seperate HD. I know that I will need to reinstall all applications included FSX and I Suppose the add ons. On the FSX HD I have all the usual FSX libraries and all add-ons such as FS Genesis, FEX, Ultimate Terrain, My Traffic X. Can I take advantage that the FSX libraries are already up to date on the seperate HDD that will be physically transferred from old to new PC. Also true for some airplanes add-ons (Coranedo, the Twin Otter, and another one) ? Roger
  14. Thank you Mike and Ryan. The FSX is on a seperate HDD and will remain there. It seems that a SSD do not really improve FSX operations except for the initial loading of FSX. The SSD would be for the OS. But does the cost justify any gain I would get with the usual stuff (mail, banking, internet browsing, photoshop) I have no other major applications on this PC nor any other game. The improvement I searched is uniquely for FSX. In my signature you can see the present system that gives me 15 fps in loaded airports and 30 fps in flight. RC4, Active Sky and EFB are running on a seperate PC. I still have no PMDG soft. That is why I want to increase the CPU capabilities with an I7 2700. I am not waiting for the Ivy Bridge nor want to pay the premium for it. I am not a FPS fanatic. I just want a decent FSX. So I question the gain versus the price for an SSD. The SATA 6 is already an improvement with my old Mobo. Roger
  15. I am studying the components for a new PC. My component provider tells me that he hasn't sold a WD Velociraptor since a year. He suggest a SSD HD. I want to use this HD for the windows 7 system and programs. What are yours thoughts about this ? Roger
  16. Hey Bluepilot,"Sometimes, none of the options in RC work. The window appears frozen. Sometimes, I can manually tune the radio to ATIS and get the RC ATIS, but then cannot contact clearance. Sometimes it all works, but freezes where I am instructed to tune TWR just before takeoff. Sometimes I can fly the whole flight with no RC problems at all!"If you use multiple screens, it can happen that if the last click with the mouse is done on the second screen the RC will not receive your input if the main screen is the 1st screen. Click anywhere on the cockpit screen then enter the input. Maybe this is your problem.Roger
  17. I agree with Todd ! Roger
  18. I also had problems to update from the Communicator. The helpdesk from My Traffic X gave me the info mentioned by Paul J.
  19. The "UseASEweather=Yes"I cannot say exactly what I did with other parameters in ini or in the Option tab of ASE.I had the impression that finally I was using the systems as defined before I tried to fix the problem but I MUST have changed something that suited the systems.
  20. Jim,I don't know what happened. After rececking the FSUIPC ini file, suppressing a line, reinstall that line, checking ASE Option, the ASE and FSX are just happy now. I get the expected sky.BTW DWC skies are wonderful. Much better than the standard.SO consider this problem closed.
  21. O.K. Jim.But you will need to wait a week as I will not be available this coming week. Will you need any log file ? (FSUIPC etc...)
  22. I made some progress. After installing the upgrades I choosed the DWC mode. The weather is not at all what ASE tells me it should be. Blue skies or scatered clouds. In Standard mode the sly appears at it should, overcasted with some darker clouds underneath. So I guess I will still not use DWC.Any comments will be welcomed.
  23. I just installed FSUIPC 4634 and Wideclient 6833. I also installed ASE Service Pack 2 (B640).When I load my last flight created before these last upgrades I find the sky with a layer of clouds. Then I start ASE. I get the information on the FSX screen that ASE downloads the new weather, it also say that the weather update for 319 sations is done. My plane sitting at KBOS (today bad weather) should be in a cloudy weather but after ASE updated the weather I have a blue sky. Can anybody help me ?
  24. Ian,Where did you find an information about <<UseASEweather=Yes to my fsuipc ini<<.
