July 6, 201114 yr Does that mean that you really dont know, or really dont want to say? Obviously nobody wants a silly answer or an empty promise like other developers have given in the past, but surely you could at least say if its going to be 2011.
July 7, 201114 yr I agree.I'm a big fan of RC and yes, its the developers perogative to say what they like about their own software. However throw us a bone. For a very short time there was a blog (that was updated only once if I recall correctly) that was going to provide details about v5. You said yourself JD that you were going to update people as to the progress of v5. It looks like that has been dormant since December 2009.If its going slower than expected, that's fine, people will understand. If you had personal issues that prevented you from working on it for 12 months, that's fine, people will understand.Just let some of your loyal supporters know whats going on.....Cheers,Kael Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs

July 8, 201114 yr If its going slower than expected, that's fine, people will understand.Looking at the general tone in the PMDG forum concering the 737 NGX at the moment I really fear that some people just won't understand. :( So can fully understand if JD want's to keep his cards close to his chest when it comes to the status of RC v5. Just keep at it, and get it done in your own time. Hopefully sooner than later :( Mikael Stockfors Staff reviewer at Mutley's Hangar
July 8, 201114 yr Yep, I'm looking forward to some form of progressive taxi instructions, and to seeing what else is new, but to be honest, I love RC4. However, I was brought up in an era before pocket electronics (but post-gaslight) so I don't feel I'm losing out if I don't see an upgrade every three months.Look forward to what's coming, certainly, but enjoy what's already probably the best ATC addon in the world.(That'll be Carlsberg again...)D
July 8, 201114 yr Commercial Member Look forward to what's coming, certainly, but enjoy what's already probably the best ATC addon in the world.(That'll be Carlsberg again...)That's an unfortunate analogy, because, as a true beer lover, I can honestly say that Car.....g is actually (not merely 'probably') one of the worst beers in the world. July 10, 201114 yr An object lesson in how to hijack a thread! Airbumps' post, which really deserves an answer, has now been buried under a pile of dross.Well done, gentlemen!Pete
July 10, 201114 yr Moderator I posted one reply. I don't consider that hijacking the thread. In any case JD had already posted his reply and I know from experience he will not expand on that even though we would all want him to. Ray (Cheshire, England). July 10, 201114 yr I have been in the airline industry for over 30 years, and if we unfortunately have a service delay the one items most of our passengers demand is up to date communication from the airline. Just look at any TV news reports of a major airline delay and you will here the passengers complaining of lack of news from the airline. This is only human nature, if we book a flight with a major Airline we think is 'customer friendly' and the communication fails, its only normal to get frustrated that our (customer friendly) airline has let us down. This equally applies to favourite software developers, we all have out favourites, the developers of Radar Contact is one of mine. Unfortunately they are badly let down with their communication skills. Please look at the forums of Eagle Dynamics (A-10C Warthog) and PMDG, at the way the developers respect their customers and offer development news whether its good or bad. By far the majority of customers appreciate even bad news if a product is delayed for whatever reason, it keeps them in the loop, and they remain loyal to the product - both of the above developers are a prime example.Sadly the developers of Radar Contact have not leaned this art of communication and feel for whatever reason their loyal customers should not be kept in the loop as far as Radar Contact development is concerned. You will obviously get the immature forum member who will DEMAND a release date for version 5, but the vast majority of us will be happy for any news of our favourite ATC software package, good or bad, we understand. As 'Airbumps' so eloquently said please "Throw up a bone".Best regardsGlen Glen
