ASN Waiting for simulator

Featured Replies

This one is pretty straight forward.

Yesterday ASN worked just fine. Today I start up my sim and ASN just says "Waiting for Simulator." It will not connect to FSX. I have a legal version of FSUIPC and it is running. I didn't change anything with flightsim, no modifications, nothing. Anyone else experience this?

Yeah, it happens some times. I just close ASN and start it up again (FSX still open), always works.

Trust me, I've tried that. I've even re-installed it.

ASN does not require FSUIPC to be installed.....it runs without it.

Try starting ASN first.

Single computer or networked install?

Single computer. Like I said it worked fine yesterday. I start ASN then FSX. It's worked fine for as long as I've had it. I bought it the day it came out

I know that ASN loads a module into FSX and P3D before it will communicate with the sim...maybe the module is missing or corrupted? Have a look at page 13 of the user manual....

Well after my fourth re-install it has appeared to work. Never seen anything like this. Thank you to all who gave me suggestions!

I also had the message waiting for simulator. Checking and checking and checking but to no avail. Tried different options and reinstall ASNext. Same problem. Finally after several days and re checking again I noticed that the the simconnect in user/Uszername/appdata/roaming/microsoft/fsx did not contain the actual Simconnect.xml BUT içnstead a shortcut to the installation file. Once I corrected the error it worked perfectly.

I am giving this info because it is easy to overlook the icon itself and realizing that it is in fact a shortcut.
