Four years later, an attempt at alto sax

Featured Replies

It's been four years since I last played the saxophone. I got bored on Wednesday, so I broke out the saxophone and played a song. I have to say, I'm surprised I even remember how to play this thing. I made a second video on Thursday for my friend, and a third one on Friday for my other friend. Here are the videos in order:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fbVRgtCypchttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwEsY2aTJLQhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2V7jNFh8j4

Should I laugh or cry?No, seriously - Well done for picking it up again! Do that every day for only five minutes and it'll all come back.I'm soon to do the same with my fiddle, which I abandoned as a teenager. My new challenge will be to learn instrumental bluegrass (I can't stand most of the singing, being English), to play alongside girlfriend's banjo. Makes a change from Vivaldi or Dvorak...Dan

Give Cajun music a listen. In particular, Doug Kershaw from thirty or so years ago. They don't use banjos but then you might sometime find yourself with a girlfriend who plays concertina or accordion.

HEY HEY HEY HIER KOMMT ALEX :(YEAH great. Great job man, it should all be coming back if you keep doing it! :(

congratz at doing that ;) ive played the alto sax for 5 years and love it i wish u the best of luck. although i do find ur choice in songs kind of questionable. myself i love playing jazz, classical (when they actually write a sax part) and some rock when it really works. :)

The first song was because I was just randomly bored and I happened to find the instrumental version of that song. The second song is my friend's favorite song, so I made the video for her. The third song is my other friend's favorite song, so I made the video for her. Both of them were impressed. They had no idea I could play the saxophone. I pretty much only listen to rock, so naturally, these songs would be rock.
