Anybody using this? The manual that comes with the panel does a good job of explaining the systems in technical terms, but it doesn't give a step-by-step guide to doing things. The main thing I'm having trouble with is getting the external power to hook up. Parking brakes are on at the gate, but the AVAIL light on the ground power switch doesn't light up. When I press it, it flases "on" for a few seconds and then goes out.Does anyone know how to do this? Or better yet, does anyone have a tutorial flight or something like that?thanks

Open the Ground Service Panel (Shift-6 or menu line, but no simicon at main panel). There you'll find switches for ELEC and BLEED.After turning them on electrical external power is available in overhead. To start engines there are 2 ways to start:1st: use external power, turn on fuel pumps. ext. air is sent through same way as APU air. Turn Start switch to either STARTA oer SARTB, use start button (must show "open" then), turn on main fuel valves at 20% N1 (pedest.) Enigne 1 should run.2nd: use APU. Turn on APU (fuel pump L CTR must be running and is the only available one at this time). Turn on APU GEN and APU BLEED. Turn on all fuel pumps then!Start enginge 1 as above. To start 2nd engine make sure it has air. If using external power or bleed air from engine 1 you must turn off AUTO air an turn on X-FEED for air (overhead at the right). After engines are running don't forget to turn starter switch off or PACKs will not work. Turn the hydraulic PITCH TRIM switches on or the autopilot won't work.Start procedure is realistic as I found in a full motion sim of Lufthansa in EDDB last year.CUhifi

sorry to bring this up again, but I'm having a problem with the autopilot. The autothrottle works fine for me, but I can't get the AP to engage at all. Both the Pitch and Yaw switches on the overhead are turned on.When I first turn things on, I notice that the flight director switch is functioning fine, and it moves up and down when I click it.The three times I've tried, as I'm taxi-ing, I notice that the switch doesn't work anymore, and I can't move it, but it does make a sound.I line up with the runway, use the autothrottle to set take-off thrust, and rotate just fine. I have my v/s, heading, and intended altitude entered into the autopilot. When I hit the HDG select button for LNAV, I see that pop up on the PFD, no problem. But when I try and hit ALT HOLD for VNAV, it makes a click sound but nothing happens. The switch doesn't move. And when I try and hit the master autopilot engage button, I hear a click but nothing happens. Is anyone flying this plane and know what I'm doing wrong. I'm almost certain I started the plane up right. The three inertia things are on and aligned, all hydaulic pumps on, but the autopilot refuses to be switched on.thanks

How are you setting up the cold and dark situation? If I remember correctly, do NOT turn the avionics master switch off when you shut down the default aircraft or you will have this problem.

I just set up the default Cessna with the fuel valves, avionics, battery, etc. all off and saved it as the default flight. So I should use a default flight with the master avionics switch left on? thanks, i'll try tomorrow.
