June 6, 200916 yr Hello, the other day I departed out of KPHX and just after leaving the ground I got a master caution warning and noted the EGT was past the amber tick mark at 962. Once power was reduced to climb the EGT lowered a bit, but the 962 numbers remained displayed for the entire flight. I was just wondering if this is normal in hot climates? I had a flex setting of 50C and the TAT at departure was +37C.Thanks, Dave S David
June 6, 200916 yr When the OAT is high, extra care is needed so you don't exceed the engine limits. The 962 will remain until the next engine start, as it represents the peak EGT reached. To clear it, push the button on the overhead labeled ENG MAX POINTER RESET.Paul
