Missing waypoints on the Garmin 500 GPS

Featured Replies

On the inclosed photo of a Garmin 500 GPS it shows a flight plan from, KSNA to KAJO but there are so many waypoints that you can NOT see the last ones on the list. Is there a way to SCROLL down to see the rest of the waypoints that are not visable? Thanks jerrycwo4

Correct me if I'm wrong, but cant you just press the "Push Clear" button until the KSNA to KAJO text is highlighted. Then use the "Push Clear" button's outer ring, (the larger one), right arrow to scroll through all of the waypoints? You just keep clicking the arrow until it gets to the bottom of the list.I'll take a quick flight and get back to you. Oh, have you seen Shez's scenery for KSNA...it's pretty cool :)Mark

Yep, it worked but not exactly how I said before. I started a flight in the default C-172 and created a flight plan using the FS9 flight planner. I basically selected every airport between KSNA and KSBA, (the L.A. tour). Probably had a dozen or more waypoints.I then clicked on the "Push Clear" button and the cursor immediately highlighted the first waypoint in the FPL screen. I then simply used the outer ring right arrow of the "Push Clear" button and scrolled down to the last waypoint in the flight plan screen. When I wanted to scroll up, I used the "Push Clear" buttons left arrow on it's outter ring. To exit the waypoint area of the FPL screen I just clicked on the "Push Clear" button again. That make any sense to you?Mark

There is a very comprehensive manual in the Learning Center that covers all aspects of using the Garmin GNS500... :( 1. Press the center of the small knob on the right side to enable the cursor2. Click on the top left/right sides of the large knob on the right side to scroll the cursor up/downThere are a LOT of things that the GNS500 default will do that 99.9% of simmers don't know about simply because they don't bother to read... :(BTW, that's PUSH CRSR (cursor) on the small knob... :(

Mybad? It is the "Push Crsr" Button...not the "Push Clear" button. Left my glasses at Bondi the other day :)N4, did you implement the Avidyne avionics in the SR-22 by any chance. That airplane rocks.Mark

The Avidyne's were a collaborative effort, but I handled the completion/compiling of the release versions.

That's some pretty cool work that you did then. It's a great plane, my favorite by far. Wish you guys would implement the TAWS and Moving map within the MFD. I know about the click spot on the Garmin but would rather have the system completely simulated with an aircraft. An aircraft that has an external model as well. Regardless, kudos dude...it rocks.Mark
