what kind of sound card do you have? do you have the latest drivers? make a log, instructions pinned at the top. duplicate the problem, send me the .log file, zipped.if you click on the speaker icon next to the plane information, do you hear sound?jd

Actually I have exactly the same problem. What helps is to press key "Q" in FSX (turn off sound) and press it again to turn sound on. After this I can hear messages from radar contact. I upgraded to Asus Xonar DX sound card which may be the source of this issue but I'm not sure. Also prerecorded chatter option works only sometimes. :-(

these problems usually turn out to be a audio driver/audio card issue. when you say pre-recorded chatter works sometimes, does it start and get cut off? how do you know it is only sometimes?a log is the only way to find out.jd
