June 12, 200916 yr I have been using AS6.5 for some time now, with FS9 and ever so recently, with FSX, after taking the plunge...Tweaking, tweaking, tweaking is time consuming... and there was an issue with FSX and AS6.5 when AS starting performing the wx station writes... I began to get short term wind shifts back and forth between the current value and some other (unable to work out what the relation between the two values is/was), which led me to think of buying ASA and FSX/simconnect...All the more apprehensive I was to get hold of ASA, though.I took another plunge this evening...I have a second PC on my desk I use for everything other than FS, so I thought I would look into the simconnect thing. And what a little mine field it can be...And here come the thanks... The documentation supplied with ASA explains it, step by step... a little bit of savvy and intuition is always necessary I believe.Following it step by step, and simconnect worked as described, so did the connection to FSX, after I had realized what is actually necessary... And by running wx generation on my other machine, I get more than just a subjective feeling of increased performance on the FS PC...Excellent stuff... FSX has become my GA/VFR fix... FS9 my IFR/ATP world... With time I hope I can explore the myriad of options available...Keep it up!Andrew Andrew Entwistle
