June 14, 200916 yr Hi Folks ...when I push AUTOFLIGHT after T/O to connect the AP, I get the AP disconnect warning and have to push AUTOFLIGHT again to reconnect it. As far as I understand, that is not according to the books. What`s going wrong ?
June 14, 200916 yr The autopilot will not engage until AT LEAST 400 feet ABOVE GROUND LEVEL not as I expect you read (and I did to start with) 400 feet.Best to hand fly the takeoff and get stablalised in a climb and on track with the flight director before engaging it.John Ellison
June 14, 200916 yr Has anyone else noticed that a LOT of users are trying to engage AUTOFLIGHT below 400ft? Jeez! What ever happened to flying the airplane? Oh for the days of the three holer (727). No VNAV, no LNAV, no FMC, no BS! A true pilot's airplane!Paul
June 14, 200916 yr Thanks John ... that might have been the reason. As I always fly online and the "11" is all new for me, I`m still using the AP as much and as soon as possible to reduce the workload a bit. So maybe I switched it on too early.@PaulIn real live I flew the BAe146 ... until last Year with analogue instruments only and with that thing which they shouldn`t call autopilot. The workload there was immense ... but this aircraft forgives many mistakes concerning handling e.g. false speeds, false flapsettings etc. The "11" doesn`t ... so its good to fly her automated ... at least as a beginner on that type :( ...

Still an exquisite design, to be still used even now as the AvRo :( At least you're ok with the way to fly and navigate properly, not like me, last minute panic lol.John Ellison
