ATC and FD Problems if engines are started manually

Featured Replies

I have just started flying the default Airbus 321. I find that if I start the engines using Ctrl-E eveything seems to work ok. But if I start the engines manually ATC chat with the tower acts as though the Avionics were not turned on even though the Radio Stack looks ok. The FD cannot be turned on and the GPS comes up completely dark. I have looked everywhere on the 2-D panels and cannot find any switch to turn on the Avionics. Have I missed something obvious?

There's a keypress you can assign to the Avionics switch. I've found that few of the default aircraft have an avionics switch, so I've had to give it a keypress. Go into the Settings/Controls/Buttons/Keys/Radios event category and you'll see the Avionics master (on/off) assignment close to the top of the list.

Thanks for the info. It worked fine after I assigned it to a switch on my joystick. Thought I was going balmy after staring and staring to locate the switch!
