June 16, 200916 yr I have a D Link D1524 Wireless router hard cabled to my computer and wireless connected to my wife's laptop.Almost every morning, the laptop cannot access the net. Solution is to momentarily unplug/replug the router from the 110v power supply. Then rest of the day everything is AOK- despite frequent shutdowns/bootups on the laptop.I've now taken to routinely unplugging the router momentarily at night after I've shut down my FS 'puter. This works fine- unless I forget to do it- then I get a hostile shout from the kitchen next AM!Any easy solutions? (apart from improving my memory)Alex Reid
June 16, 200916 yr You are supposed to be able to mix wired and wireless in one network. However, I have never been able to get that to work properly, most notably, if there are different OS's involved. All the computers in my house now hook-up wirelessly, and no more problems.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
