June 21, 200916 yr hello, I have a problem , when I fly my team fs KBT F/A-18, when I use the carrier operations package it comes with, (the switch that says ARM ACT) the flight simulator freezes and A popup comes up saying sound files not found. I do have gaugesound.dll and I installed everything correctly. HELP!I am not familiar with that package but if you think the gaugesound.dll might be the problem, here are a couple of things you can check:My gaugesound.dll is located in my main Flightsimulator 9 folder (not in the modules folder as some of the others are)In my FS9.cfg file I also found it necessary to add the following:[OLDMODULES]GaugeSound.dll=1If you do not already have this you can simply add it to the bottom of the FS9.cfg file and it will reorder it automatically when you next start up FS2004.This simply tells FS2004 that it is OK to use the gaugesound.dll file which it may think is problematic. As I said, I have no idea if the gaugesound.dll file is the problem but having it properly installed is important.Good luck. :(

June 27, 200916 yr Where is the FS9.cfg file? This is probably the most asked (and answered) question regarding FS2004.That file is "hidden" by default - go to My Computer and then select Tools and then Folder Options and then View. Scroll down a liitle ways and place a tick mark in the box by the line which says "Show hidden files and folders".While you are there, be sure there is NOT a mark in the box by the line which says "Hide extensions for known file types"In a default installation in XP, the FS9.cfg file will be found here:C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9Once you have found it, you can Right Click on it and select Properties and remove the "hidden" attribute. That will make it easier to locate in the future. Many of us also create a shortcut to the FS9.cfg file and place it on our Desktop for easy access to the file.
