Two new free FSX Missions for you to try

Featured Replies

Hi,I posted this in the FSX Missions forum but as that doesn't get as much attendance, I hope AVSIM don't mind that I post it here too.I have just produced two new freeware Missions for FSX;Antarctic Supply RunA simple 15 minute Mission, which features scenery for the departure and destination areas. You are based at McMurdo Station, Antarctica, and must deliver some supplies to a temporary scientific station 9nm away. Also contains lot's of audio and immersion.Cunderdin to Beverley CheckrideYou are renting a C172 during your stay in Western Australia. Before you can take the plane for the weekend, you must fly a 20 minute checkride down to Beverley, with the friendly rental guy. Contains lot's of audio, triggered events, etc. NB... This mission requires the Orbx Freeware YCUN airport (www.ftxnow.com), and also OZx 2.2 for the YBEV airport (www.aussiex.org)Both missions are installed by simply extracting the main folder from the downloaded Zip files, and placing it in the main FSX Missions folder.Hope you enjoy these! The files are downloadable from here:- http://www.mediafire.com/davidrogersCheers,

Thank you, I am trying out the Checkride mission and will let you know how it went.

So a few things, I did not have a flight plan loaded into my GPS....not sure whyAlso, are there triggers in this mission? Like on takeoff you say rotate around 60kts and something like "watch the pitch" etc - so I pulled up to about a 15 degree pitch and you didn't say anything hehe - like you FAILED this checkride haha....just wonderin if when I do something wrong you will correct me??

Hi Ryan,Apologies that the GPS Flight Plan is missing from the Mission file - you can still fly the mission fully by following the mission compass after take-off, (to track 225 degrees), then when you see YBEV on your GPS, turn left to track towards it. The mission wouldn't penalize this in any way. :( Alternatively, for those that have flight planning add-ons; if you want to set the flight plan up manually in the GPS; here are the co-ordinates:-YCUN S31 37' 21.93 E117 13' 25.82WP1 S31 56' 14.92 E116 51' 14.58YBEV S32 7' 50.16 E116 57' 12.40.....regarding your question around the triggers, some are event based (like the 'rotate' call, which will only happen when you reach 60 knots, and others are 'immersive' effects; I have to confess that the "watch your pitch!" is just for effect, shortly after take-off, to encourage the pilot to maintain proper climb pitch..... :( So you weren't doing anything wrong!90% of the events are triggered though - ie. you won't get the "would you like a coffee?" menu, until you've landed. Thanks,
  • 1 year later...

I flew this mission successfully tonight but am unlucky with the OZx KBEV scenery? Seems it's not available any more and that dirt strip was hard to find in the default scenery.Any help, appreciated please?
