July 13, 200916 yr I'm looking for someone in the Detroit area that can provide personalized service for repairing rigs and building new ones. I don't quite have the expertise to build something from scratch on my own but I would want to choose all of the components. I used to go to Stone computers in Madison Heights but I found them to be pretty sloppy the last time I was there. I would go to Microcenter but there I would have no ability to deal directly with the tech. MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad

July 16, 200916 yr Looks like August 16..I live in Belleville and built my own rig, my 10th rig building, It's an X58 with I7 920 Oc'd to 3.8 with 6 gigs of ram and a full case. Let me know if you want to get your stuff then we can build it at my house. I can get that beast running smooth. I get frames of about 40 to 60 with everything maxed. Probably save you a buck or 2 too.
August 12, 200916 yr Author Thanks for the info and the offers. I live near Royal Oak so I was looking for something close (I know, I know, beggars can't be choosers). Two new shops have opened up in the area recently (last year or so). I stopped by both of them yesterday and "interviewed" them. I basically went in to find out what they do without telling them what I was looking for - asking basic questions and seeing what their responses are before giving more information. The first one in Clawson seemed like a typical shop - they build and work on run of the mill rigs. I'm sure they are competent but I wasn't impressed because they had no specialized knowledge of FS.The second one seemed really promising - techbench of Birmingham www.yourtechbench.com. The owner mentioned that they really only build high end gaming an media rigs. They have built FS rigs in the past and they were familiar with FS-GS (they mentioned FS-GS first as some guy in California that does tweaks on FS rigs). He told me about a home cockpit that one of his clients has. Anyway, I was impressed with his knowledge and I think I will give them a shot when I build my i7 rig for FSX. The will also overclock the rig as long as I sign off on it - something that other stores won't do.Is anyone familiar with this shop?
