July 15, 200916 yr I have been having a blast this week flying an Osprey in RealFlight G4.5 Remote Control simulator. So much so that I have become interested in experiencing a tilt rotor from the cockpit. Alpha-Sim makes the Osprey and Wilco the Bell 609. The Wilco is newer, which sometimes means better... is that true in this case?Any pros or cons for either the Alphasim Osprey or the Wilco 609?Are there any freeware tilt rotors? I still have FS9 installed if any have been made for it.Robert
July 15, 200916 yr Mate i was so upset when i first brought the wilco and the flight characteristics were so bad. Then installed the patch and Air New Zealand repaint it was OK.Cockpit Glass was OK/Great!!Since have taken it off my system have it there but no more in my hanger:)CheersWaka172rg
July 15, 200916 yr yep you dead rite but if you want it its better than nothing don't try the hover from the cockpit :(
July 15, 200916 yr So even after the patch it is impossible to hover? I fly almost exclusively from the VC... looks like a "no go".Robertquote name='waka172rg' date='Jul 15 2009, 06:15 AM' post='1604980']yep you dead rite but if you want it its better than nothing don't try the hover from the cockpit :(
July 15, 200916 yr That's how i found it mate but if you like a good vc cockpit and visual mode get it. but i have taken it off for now till i need some screenshots its always good to have tho.

July 16, 200916 yr Here is the link to wilcos website support login and download the patch.CheersWaka172rg
July 16, 200916 yr I was looking over Alphasim's Osprey and apparently minimum forward speed in a "hover" is thirty knots. Whoa... Is that true???Robert Here is the link to wilcos website support login and download the patch.CheersWaka172rg

July 16, 200916 yr I've used the Alphasim Osprey for awhile now and like it. The airframe modelling is outstanding. I have some issues with the panel (it looks like the guages were taken from an F-117 that has a heads up display, but the V-22 does not. Therefore, the glass panel does not enable me to view the primary flight instruments at the same time as the engine instruments). Everything else is very nice and fun to fly. There is a cure available for the default inability to hover. A guage add-on was produced that enabled vertical take off and landing and works very well. I'm sorry, but I cannot remember the file name, but it should show up on searches.Happy flying,GW

On my PC, that almost double the framerate.Cheers, Rob Barendregt
July 17, 200916 yr Has anybody tried a 20 to 25 kt wind to 'aid' in hovering? Just curious. I find I can hover in both FS9 and FSX with a 22 to 24 kt wind. Don't know if this is considered 'cheating', but how else can one do it? Wind does not effect handling as far as speed or turning is concerned, so I do it. What ever works.I made a short video of V22 in FSX. Here is link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4ASvtlxvAM . I plan one more, showing aerobatics and Mach 4 speeds.Chuck BNapamule
