July 19, 200916 yr Hello, some words at the beginning: In Virtual Cockpit Mode I get about 35-40FPS but in extreme conditions (many AI Traffic, very bad Weather ...) my FPS decrease to 23-28FPS.To get more FPS in extreme conditions I made the following:As I fly in Captains Seat only I deleted all gauges of the F.O. Panel (VSI, the 2 PFD's, Clock, Altimeter, F.O. ADF and the speed Altimeter) and replaced them with textures. The good thing: the FPS increased by more than 25%The bad thing: You are not able to fly from the F.O. Seat but this should not hurt much people as most of them (so do I) fly from Captains Seat only)Are you interested in this?If you are interested in it I will contact D. Shutt (LDS) to ask him about the permission to upload it to the download section in the LDS Support ForumBest regardsImage over Avsim 200K limit !

July 20, 200916 yr The best way these days to combat poor FPS in FS9 is to get a mid-range computer (by todays standards) and a decent video card. The performance of mid-ranged PC's today is more than enough to handle FS9 in all conditions. On top of that if one is able to get a video card with a gig of ram on it you'll never see stutters again. Now on the FSX side of the tracks this tip might help. I'd post this on the FSX forum as I'm sure more than a few would/should be interested in whatever can squeeze a little more performance out of that sim... July 20, 200916 yr I forgot to mention if possible one needs to stay away from Vista if given a choice between XP. FS9 was made for XP and runs better without issue on that OS. Some have reported no issue with Vista just the same if there's a choice choose what works best for the sim and what was around when the sim and it's various add-ons were created.
