Is it only me who finds it a great pain accessing the forums? For the past twelve months it sometimes takes an age to get onto the forums, especially at 6.00am GMT. All other flightsim sites I can access easily, no problems but AVSim I am forever waiting. I am not sure if this is a european problem or if people from other parts of the world have the same problem. I have also tried different browsers but unfortunately the problem still persists. Your thoughts would be welcome.

Hello, I have had to reinstall FSX and the aircraft preview window is black. I have done repair and also a complete reinstall after a format of the hard drive which Fsx is installed upon. Your help would be appreciated. Barry

Hi, I tried Jims (no tweaks) theory except for and it was a disaster, frames dropped to max 15, continuous stuttering. I went back to FSX cfg. tweaks and most things are working perfectly, still to find the holy grail. Barry

Hello again, I am sorry to come back to this topic but since activating Toggle FXAA on or off The scenery in flight has become very wavy, especially when panning in spot mode. Thanks Barry

Hello, Allowing FXAA in the NI did the trick but unfortunately it gave me a nice small green box at the top left hand screen both in the preview window and the full screen mode. Thanks for you help but I think I may have to have the jaggies in the preview window as opposed to the green box. Barry

Hi, I have recently tried DX10 and after reading various posts in the forum and installing the DX10 fixes, I obtain a very steady 30fps. However, for some unknown reason all the aircraft that appear in the preview window have jaggies yet when in flight no jaggies at all, aircraft very smooth. Is this normal or am I missing something? According to Chase Kreznor at avsim its their severs that they are having problems with and he told me they were working on it. I have had this problem for about a month. The library and other flightsim sites work ok.

Set altitude, set flaps, set speed, release brakes, halfway down runway hit A/P and watch plane take off. Works with most jets.

No problem here, then I do not have google chrome only google. Barry

kevinums If you press @ on your keyboard after you have loaded your flight, the ATC window will pop up.

I have had this problem for at least 3 years in both FS9 and FSX. When flying in cockpit mode (2d panel). You can left click on your mouse (in the sky part) and drag the picture down a few centimeters, unfortunately, each time you change the view in Fsx it reverts back to normal whereas in FS9 it did not. When I used to fly FS9 I did use a indelible pen and blocked out the top of the screen, this worked well until the ink faded.

Talek, I had a similar problem recently and I altered the pre rendered frames setting in Nv Inspector to 1 also try water effects setting High2x high in FSX settings These settings can be found in Kostas confg. guide. Barry

Chris The only edits I made were in the "Cameras.CFG" I was mainly interested in altering the spot view from 1 to 0.80 Barry

Hello Jim & slait, Before I installed fsx I did defrag my hard drive and my settings in fsx were already pretty low. I also removed the "poolsize" section in fsx confg. but the problem was still there. I decided to remove fsx confg. and let it rebuild itself, this has now got rid of the artifacts and somehow my settings within fsx are much higher than before. There does seem to be more mysteries within fsx as opposed to fs9 and I am still not convinced that fsx is better. Many thanks to both of you for your suggestions.

Hi, I have recently installed fsx and everything seems to work fine with the exception of black vertical flickering when panning in spot view. I have turne off cockpit tips as suggested in other threads but this does not work for me. I have a gtx460se card with the 341.2 driver. Your suggestions would be welcome. Thanks Barry
