Camera confgs.

Featured Replies

Hi, I have tried to alter some camera configurations, mainly the initial zoom from the default 1 to 0.80. However, each time I go to fly, the camera configs. remain as default.

Could anyone please help.

Thanks

Barry

Just an elementary question: did you alter the camera initial zoom setting in the specific aircraft cfg file before loading FSX? I have altered all my camera settings and have never had any of them go to the default setting.

The only edits I made were in the "Cameras.CFG" I was mainly interested in altering the spot view from 1 to 0.80

Hi Barry,

The changes I referred to was for the various cockpit views of the B744. However, I went into my Cameras.cfg and adjusted the Spot view to 0.80, as you have done. I closed that window and started FSX and loaded a test flight. Went to Spot view and the view had indeed changed to 0.80. I verified that by hitting BKSPC and then zooming to see from which point it would increase or decrease zoom, and it was from the 0.80 setting.

So, I can verify that changing the setting in Cameras.cfg does alter that setting and saves it. I can't understand why yours is defaulting back to 1.0. Sorry, can't help further.

Thanks for trying. I assume that the only edit I need to make is the Initial Zoom for what ever view I require?

Thanks again

Barry

That's correct. The setting at the Initial Zoom becomes your default zoom level. The only way a setting doesn't save correctly, is if it is done while FSX is running concurrently. But you would know this....so hope you get it sorted out.

open the default flight. Set Zoom to .80 of the default flight. Save the default flight. Then close FSX. restart fSX and from there on forward the default initial zoom will always be .80. or whaever you have set it to.

No need to set camera settings or change them unless you want to change 2nd/3rd/4th camera view.

Default view zoom level is set with the default flight saved setting
