July 22, 200916 yr Hello All:Please read this through to the end carefully before responding. In February 2008, I purchased directly from Flight One (Flight1) Software the Ultimate Traffic 2007 PC DVD-ROM Edition. The program installs perfectly. The problem is with the Automatic Updater within the program after installation. Whenever I try to use it, I get an error message that says exactly this:"Invalid Registration: A valid key was not found for this software."What's going on here? I don't get it. This is the commercial PC DVD-ROM edition of this product, NOT the download edition. The installation process at no time asks for any valid key or serial number or whatever. It installs perfectly from beginning to end. The problem only occurs when I try to use the Automatic Updater within the program after installation, and because I can't use the Automatic Updater, I don't see all of the real-world AI Traffic within FS2004. I did purchase a new PC last March, and I did have the Ultimate Traffic 2007 PC DVD-ROM software installed on my previous system where it all worked perfectly. There is a replacement validation key for the actual order I used to purchase this software that I can download using the Automated Key Replacements page in the Flight One Software Service & Support section, but this seems to only be made for the download edition of this product - which makes sense. I have the PC DVD-ROM edition! Please help.Sincerely,Richard Sharpe
July 22, 200916 yr Why don't you backup your current .key and and try the replacement? Nothing to lose! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
July 22, 200916 yr Thanks, but your answer didn't help. Where EXACTLY do I put this key? In EXACTLY what folder? What do I do with it? Why do I need a key for the commercial DVD-ROM edition? It all installs fine from beginning to end, like I said in the original post. The key crap comes up when I try to use JUST the Automatic Updater within the software AFTER installation like I said in the original post. There's no mention of any key anywhere during the installation nor in the instruction manual. This is getting ridiculous. I don't get it.
July 22, 200916 yr Richard, two things: first, I suggest that you head on over to SimForums and ask about your problem there... they (especially a guy named Alastair Monk) can be very helpful.Second, I also purchased UT 2007, in fact, around the same exact time you bought it. I've never had problems with the updating service, so I can't help you to solve the problem... however, I'd like to help you stop banging your head against the wall. Other than some repaint updates that have been available forever, and some afcad updates that only screwed up a bunch of my airports, there have not been any worthwhile updates for that software since May 2007 (which was the last time they updated the AI schedule). It will not be updated again. I was lured to this product because I read a description that said the product's schedules would be "updated regularly," but Flight1 has moved on. I have too... I'm back to using World of AI, which is updated regularly, and it's FREE.I love Flight1 products, and their customer support is second-to-none... but they gave up on UT 2007 a long time ago, and I think you may have to do the same.I'm sorry if I've come off like a bummer... I just want to save a fellow simmer some heartache.
