LOL Sorry, I'm not trying to boost my post count with this... I just thought it was really funny!

I'm almost surprised that more posts followed this one. I sympathize with the original post; I want to see this franchise survive as much as any of of us. It doesn't matter what we want. It was a business decision. Play FS as long as you can.EDIT: This was NOT a shot at your last post, mebull... I thought there were more posts after yours :( No disrespect intended.
  3. You are groovy, Kinkaid! :( one of us, one of us, one of us
  4. Richard, two things: first, I suggest that you head on over to SimForums and ask about your problem there... they (especially a guy named Alastair Monk) can be very helpful.Second, I also purchased UT 2007, in fact, around the same exact time you bought it. I've never had problems with the updating service, so I can't help you to solve the problem... however, I'd like to help you stop banging your head against the wall. Other than some repaint updates that have been available forever, and some afcad updates that only screwed up a bunch of my airports, there have not been any worthwhile updates for that software since May 2007 (which was the last time they updated the AI schedule). It will not be updated again. I was lured to this product because I read a description that said the product's schedules would be "updated regularly," but Flight1 has moved on. I have too... I'm back to using World of AI, which is updated regularly, and it's FREE.I love Flight1 products, and their customer support is second-to-none... but they gave up on UT 2007 a long time ago, and I think you may have to do the same.I'm sorry if I've come off like a bummer... I just want to save a fellow simmer some heartache.
  5. I was able to successfully download FS real world weather two minutes ago.
  6. Thank you, Thralni, for your answer concerning the block upgrade.
  7. I know you've said that you don't feel qualified to talk about the FS9 version, but I'll ask anyway (and almost certainly, someone else will jump on it), but when I bought the Pro Pack and the freighter addon the other day, I decided to hold off on the Block F upgrade. I couldn't find any info on the CS site that explained what it does... So, what does it add to the package?
  8. Not for me, I'm able to access the main page and the forums.
  9. Benjamin - I was just about to let the first poster know about your new review, when I saw that you had already jumped on it... so I'll take this opportunity to tell you that I read it yesterday, and I think it's terrific. I've been waiting for a comprehensive review of this product; your detailed descriptions of EVERYTHING, along with the AVSIM Gold Star, have sold me. Thanks for a great write-up!
  10. HA HA HA HA! (LOL doesn't suffice) I thought the SAME THING, Tom. I literally laughed out loud when I read the original post.
  11. Try them again, at their new support forum, here.
  12. I'm sorry el Kabong, I've never had those problems.
  13. I'm sorry to hear about the problems you've been having with PFE. I've been using it since Dave and his team overhauled and reintroduced it a year ago, and I'm very happy with the results. I've had a few minor problems here and there, but I always remember that it's a work-in-progress, and the team is making it better with every update.I can only offer (mostly) rudimentary advice, although one of your problems struck a chord with me: the annoying delay between call and response, and the sometimes complete lack of response. I have realized, begrudgingly, that the lack of response from PFE was due to my incorrect hotkey commands (i.e., asking for one thing when I should have asked for another). Sometimes it seems that PFE will just ignore it completely. In that way, no, it's not very intuitive; it is only a piece of software and doesn't yet have the ability to correct you. I've also found that the long delays were due to other (non-FS-related) programs taking up system resources. You say you don't have a high-end system; neither do I. People like us need to get into the habit of shutting down non-essential services before going into FS. I use a program called Alacrity, which I found on download.com, which does this for me. It also defrags my memory, which gives my system a little extra boost. You should check it out.As for the rudimentary advice, I'll try to please the PFE team by offering the mantra, "read the manual, read the manual, read the manual." PFE doesn't have much of what I'd call a "learning curve," but it's not a kick-the-tires, light-the-fires program either.Other than that, stick with the OnCourse Software forums, be specific in your questions, and do EXACTLY what Dave tells you to do while trying to solve these problems. He gives great support, and he'll do whatever it takes to make sure it works for you.Don't give up yet... PFE is worth your money. Once it works for you, I'm sure you'll agree. I rarely write long posts like this, but I LOVE the product. I don't work for them; I'm only a very satisfied customer!
  14. It's great to have these old forums back... nothin' else like it on the www.This is an amazing little community we have here.

It's his FS2004 Media Bundle. That's a link to the proper page. I have it, I love; it makes everything pop and come alive.
  16. That's exactly what I'd like to know, as well. If the E-Jets series is more system-oriented thant CX, I need to start warming up the ol' debit card! :(
  17. It's not a problem Dave; don't worry about feeling foolish...Would you please PM me after you've kicked the tires, let me know what you think? As you can see from my banner, I'm a fan of PMDG, but I also have Wilco's Citation X, and I LOVE it. I've been thinking about the E-Jets product for awhile, but I haven't read any reviews that made me leap off the fence, either direction.I'd sure appreciate hearing your opinion!
  18. Hey dfish: I just went to Wilco's home page, and a banner for the E-Jets series pops up, on the right side. Clicking on that will take you to the E-Jets product page. If you scroll a quarter of the way down that page, you will see an icon for "Prices and Order Page;" clicking on that will bring up a new page with several versions and ordering options.I hope I've been some help to you; good luck!EDIT: Here is a link to the ordering and pricing page (which I suppose I could have included in the original post!)
  19. Excellent! LOL
  20. You're the life of every party, aren't you...?
  21. I just found one FDE upgrade for the FS9 default Lear45 in the library, filename flight_simulator_9_aircraft_lear45.zip, author Carlos Maida. I'm going to try it out, myself.I'm also using Ernie Alston's Integrated Simavionics Group package with my Lear 45; it makes a WORLD of difference. I love it!
  22. HATER! LOLI know some people really hate Wilco. I don't know... I have a couple of their other products, and I've been happy with them. To each his own, I guess...
  23. Thanks for the link to the review Bob... that review was actually what prompted me to start this thread in the first place. That link is a good tool for anyone starting to research this product. Thanks to everyone else who responded. I know that Wilco just released an update for the tilt rotor yesterday; it seems to me they still have some work to do before they reach a quality level I'm willing to pay for... I still think it's a pretty cool-looking aircraft. I can't wait to see the real thing zipping around the sky someday!
  24. I'm using a different (from WoAI) AI package right now, but I've used planes and traffic plans from Ultimate GA in the past, and I'm happy to tell you that you can't go wrong... you'll see your Learjets and Beechcraft and all others... let it loose, enjoy! They do a great job!
  25. bump. (only one, I promise)
