September 20, 200916 yr http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJitTH5uxgA FOLKS if you havent see this youtube video post it might be an idea to click on the link and see whats being done about getting our beloved aces back to work. and how we can all help .. the petition is at this video post and we need all the numbers we can get ...and lets face we have them.
September 20, 200916 yr Hi,Do you realize that the community did all this, about a thousand times, right after ACES was closed? The decision has been made, the future is undetermined.
September 20, 200916 yr well maybe we need 2000 times to get somewhere. its worth signing ..at least i think it is . Hi,Do you realize that the community did all this, about a thousand times, right after ACES was closed? The decision has been made, the future is undetermined.
September 20, 200916 yr well maybe we need 2000 times to get somewhere. its worth signing ..at least i think it is .Well, you're wrong. Better to have one thing copiously supported than a thousand supported hardly at all. Why didn't you lend your support to previous campaigns rather than trying to start a futile new one of your own at this (too) late stage? No point reinventing the wheel. No point reinventing the wheel for a cart when the only road goes over a cliff. Better to invent a parachute.
September 20, 200916 yr Microsoft is not a government entity and is not as subject to "petition" as you might think.
September 20, 200916 yr AH!!!!Grasshopper..... Confucius Say"No point reinventing the wheel for a cart when the only road goes over a cliff. Better to invent a parachute." Unless of course the cliff concerned is old Sir Cliff himself.(cruel i know)(For our U.S. and other friends who may not know, Sir Cliff of the Richard is an extremely ancient UK crooning type pop personage. Anyways back to the petition.I couldn't be bothered before. And i should have.So this time i have.Andy
September 20, 200916 yr this is incredible.. i did'nt lead any petitions before but did support them(all of them) (and not only at this site ) and did what i could do (as many others) for aces and the sim..so your criticism of me is 100% un substantiated....the fight goes on . ...i really can't believe there are people in the sim community (here of all places) that would rather criticize me for posting this rather than just sighing the thing. people who think as i do snave are not trying to re- invent the wheel we are trying to keep it rolling there is no cliff either just a bumpy rough road. to the avsim staff please continue to review this topic if it continues to have posts that are not supportive of the sim and posts that are a determent to the cause.. and the intent here as i'm sure you see clearly i respectfully request that you remove it. toxic posts and finger pointing will NOT support the cause.infact it will dammage it.... if i thought for a second that there would be ANYTHING other than 100% support for aces and the sim i would have never posted.. Well, you're wrong. Better to have one thing copiously supported than a thousand supported hardly at all. Why didn't you lend your support to previous campaigns rather than trying to start a futile new one of your own at this (too) late stage? No point reinventing the wheel. September 20, 200916 yr this is incredible.. i did'nt lead any petitions before but did support them(all of them) (and not only at this site )...I thought this sounded familiar... :(http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1253405175 Rick
September 20, 200916 yr yup and if you look around some more sites you will find the same post..whats the point?? :( this is incredible.. i did'nt lead any petitions before but did support them(all of them) (and not only at this site )...I thought this sounded familiar... :(http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1253405175
September 20, 200916 yr yup and if you look around some more sites you will find the same post..whats the point?? :(Merely that I'd seen you do this on other forums. And honestly wondering if you were the type to blindly rush and defend your quixotism, even from such innocuous statements as mine. It seems you are. And it certainly wasn't intended as a point to you; if it was I'd have stated such. I could care less what you think... Rick
September 20, 200916 yr well what i think is flight sim as well as awsum sites like this are great. what i think is we should not lay down when it comes to defending aces and the sim program EVER.. what i think is when there is a simple petition to be signed that will at least show the powers that be there is a major intrest in the simulator and for the people that make it happen by the numbers that have been added up by a petition would prehaps take another look at the choice they made about aces..THATS WHAT I THINK rick and if u dont care about what i think ..thats cool ...you just have right at it ...but know this ..its not just what i think many others think and feel as i do because they are serious sim pilots (and real world pilots as i am) and take aviation in all its formats serious ...rick its a simple petition ... if you or anyone dont wanna sign it then dont..its simple.... .. Merely that I'd seen you do this on other forums. And honestly wondering if you were the type to blindly rush and defend your quixotism, even from such innocuous statements as mine. It seems you are. September 20, 200916 yr Look, all I did was point out what was mentioned in another forum. Period. I wasn't taking issue with what you said over there. You picked up some imaginary gauntlet and ran with it. Not my fault. You could have (should have?) ignored it and went on happily with your quest. So now with flags waving and an orchestral background, you reiterate unnecessarily. What Mr. Hamilton said previously rings pretty true here. And as far as this goes:its not just what i think many others think and feel as i do because they are serious sim pilots (and real world pilots as i am) and take aviation in all its formats serious...don't think yourself so special. There are plenty of US around here. I concede. Want the last word? Fine. But don't waste your time on me. You've got a long row to hoe. Good luck... Rick
September 21, 200916 yr ROFLOL oh my god rick...get over this foolishness now ...look sign it or dont sign it.simple as that.whats hard??....its not about me its about flight sim which at this site is bigger than you or me ..and thats the way it should be.now theres the last word move on nuff said.. September 21, 200916 yr I have resisted the temptation to post on topics like this, so there must be something in the water today. To the OP, I wish you the best in your efforts.MS made the decision to cut ACES. That decision was a business decision. I am confident in the knowledge that MS knows how many simmers are out there. They have the sales figures to prove it (or at least prove how many legitimate sales there were). I do not think any amount of vocal outcry will cause them to rethink this decision. For those of you that think this decision will be the downfall of MS, :( :( :( Which do you think is greater, the amount of computers sold in the last 12 months that came preloaded with a Windows product, or the total sales of MSFS since they bought it from Bruce? I would bet on the former. If at some point in time they decide to venture back into the flightsim market, that decision will be a business based one, not an emotional one.I hope they do make that decision at some point, but only if they completely overhaul FS and leave it in a PC format. As I said earlier, best of luck to the OP and others attempting similar efforts. I personally choose to spend my time enjoying what I have (which has no expiration date, BTW), as opposed to spending my time shouting at the wind.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
September 21, 200916 yr Commercial Member Unlike Windows... or absolutely any other software made by any company... Flight Sim has the distinction of being the longest running successful software ever offered.I suspect the primary reason for it's demise is strictly because Bill Gates is no longer at Microsoft.
