July 28, 200916 yr Laptops....icky for FSX performanceAnyway, if you're stuck with a laptop, a few things to consider:Fastest CPU possible (ie GHz)Minimum of 4GB of RAM with Vista, hope for a 64 bit OSAn nvidia GPU, because the laptop ATI cards are usually the ones FSX doesn't play well withoops just read your link - yeah that is pretty good. August 18, 200916 yr Author Laptops....icky for FSX performanceYes I know laptops are less than ideal, but I work at sea for four months at a time and when I'm on leave I'm usually travelling between the UK and Serbia visiting my girlfriend. I would dearly love to have a desktop, but it's not an option for me as I can't carry it around with me.The laptop itself doesn't need to be very portable, just enough to allow me to carry it to a new ship a couple of times each year. The rest of the time it just sits on the desk.I've looked again and I think I can probably stretch my budget by a few hundred to bring an i7 into the equation.Given the fact I will have the same amount of RAM, and the same graphics card, would an i7 950 (3.06Ghz) justify spending the Nick
