July 28, 200916 yr I've had a strange thing happen. When I try to minimize aircraft, it only reduces by a slight bit. The usual 25% (?) screen doesn't appear. Apparently I've hit a button or done something else unknown that's preventing me from having the minimze function to work.Has anyone ever had this problem? If so what can I do to correct it?As usual I'd appreciate any suggestions.Jack Fentress
July 28, 200916 yr What do you mean by "minimize aircraft". I'm only aware of zooming in and out and minimizing a window. Art
July 29, 200916 yr Author What do you mean by "minimize aircraft". I'm only aware of zooming in and out and minimizing a window.Art........I kind of misspoke. What I should have written is the following:I meant the icon at the upper right part of the screen which minimizes and maximizes the picture on the screen, not the aircraft itself. When working properly it allows me to have 2 pics on the screen at the same time such as Flight Sim Commander and FSX for various reasons. This is not a giant problem but more of an annoyance that I hope can be solved.Jack Fentress
July 29, 200916 yr Are you in Windowed Mode or Full Screen Mode? If in Windowed Mode, you probably accidentally resized the "minimized" window so it is almost as large as the "maximized" window. Hit the "minimize" icon, then use your mouse to "drag" the sides and top/bottom of the window to the size you want. Then move the entire window where you want it on your screen (to make room for FSC, etc). Then FSX should minimize and maximize to the sizes and locations you are looking for.Rick Rick Ryan
July 29, 200916 yr There are actually three icons at the top right in windowed mode. The right one closes FSX, the middle one "maximizes" and "restores down" the window size, and the left one "minimizes" the window to the tray at the bottom of the screen (closes the window). I assume you are talking about the middle icon. When the window is maximized, you can click on this icon to restore down and make the window resizeable. When in this mode, the edges of the window can be dragged to resize, or the whole window can be dragged to any position on the screen. Art

I haven't a clue as to how I did it but your solutions were the correct ones. Everything is back to normal now. Must have been a senior moment! As I always say in matters like this, the forum, once again proves how valuable it is to Flight Simmers. I suspect that without this one (and others, to be fair) there would be a lot less of us "in the skies".Jack Fentress
July 30, 200916 yr Art/Jack,Yeah, I have those senior moments also. I meant to imply use the "restore up/down" icon, but said it wrong. Proof that I shouldn't answer forum messages just before naptime. :( Glad you got it fixed.Rick Rick Ryan
