Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel that most of the people that hit the "Kosh" post don't realize that this annual aviation event is produced by an amateur organization that is basically about building, modify, designing and building your own aircraft, etc. Here is a link to their website. Anyone can join, you don't have to be a pilot and in addition to all the services it offers its members, they throw in a very interesting monthly magazine. I think this is a valid point as well. Oshkosh is sometimesmade out to be the Paris Air Show of America sometimes (maybe that's just me?), but it's run by a great GA organization and is mainly about general aviation. Not to downplay the Air Venture, but it's always good to remember reality ;)

It's true it's about building your own aircraft, but I would hardly call them an amateur organization! They are experts at what they do and have been around for years!! A better way to put it is they are an organization that promotes and helps amateur aircraft builders and aviation in general especially General Aviation
