FSD Seneca vs Carenado Seneca

Featured Replies

Does antyne know enough about these two planes to make a comparison? I noticed that the FSD Seneca does have a 2D panel. The FSD is a little cheaper.

Thanks for your input. I've been debating buying the plane, but I have a whole host of slow-movers now.

I have both and like what was mentioned above these are the same but two different aircraft. I've compared them both and both are great in their own merit. It's pretty much like the real world of having an older generation and a newer generation aircraft. They both perform as expected with similar flying characteristics (after updates of course), both visually are well done with Caranado being a bit better for todays generation of development/design techniques, avionics are appropriate to the periods these models represent, and both have decent sound packages. Both versions in my book are worth getting and equal in most areas. Like I said you have two generations of the same model aircraft that have been equally well done. I for one am glad I have them both and jumping from one to another doesn't feel like I taking a step down...Another aspect I'm liking is you can also get the same generation downgrade to the Seneca from FSD. That being the single engine Saratoga which is nothing more than the Seneca with one engine. The same scenario goes with the Dreamfleet Baron and A36. The Baron is nothing more that the A36 with two engines. Some may disagree with this fact but the fuselages are identical between the two. All these aircraft are very well done...

I really like the look of the Baron from Dreamfleet. I have Vista 64. I thought that the Lite version might work since it does not have the RXP guages, but they say only the 32 bit version. Otherwise, I would jump on it. I may toss a coin on the Seneca and try one or like you say, both.
