August 13, 200916 yr I just purchased FSUIPC 4 and WideFS so that I can output postional data from FSX into my handheld GPS/Moving map. The handheld is a notebook computer running Windows XP. The moving map software is from Seattle AvionicsDoes anyone have advise on the best way to network my desktop (running FSX) and my netbook? From Pete Townson, it doesn't sound like he has a preference for me setting up the network. Is it best to setup the network via wifi, bluetooth or hardwired (ie, cat45/LAN). Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks
August 13, 200916 yr I am looking to do the same. I just refurbished my old rig and want to offload some FS apps onto it via WideFS. I am all Wireless, but would be interested to know if you can do a mini wired network off a PC on a wireless internet connection ? August 13, 200916 yr I don't think it matters. I have used both CAT5 and WiFi ( both via a hub/switch) for FS9 WideFs client and FSX SimConnect client without any apparent issues. I have in the past used the GPSOut function in FS9, but not for a while on current hardware. I assume peer to peer WiFi would work.scott s..
