Default GPS won't come up!

Featured Replies

All of sudden the GPS icon produces only a faint flicker and then nothing. On the second click there isn't even a flicker. All other pop-ups work fine. Tried numerous default ac. The GPS has gone missing!!I have deleted the FSX.cfg file twice. I did a system restore. Before I try an FSX Repair with the DVD I thought I'd check here first. Anyone got a clue???Bruce

I assume that you have this problem with all aircraft (or at least all that are using the default GPS)? Do you have a file called "fs9gps.cab" in your "..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Gauges" directory? If you don't, either a repair from the DVD's will solve it, or you can find that file manually on the DVD's and copy it to the gauges directory.

Okay, now I know what happened!! Dummy me! I uninstalled FS9 from this computer. Then I did a search for FS9 and deleted all the files that came up!! Obviously I deleted that file, and all other FS9 files, from FSX!! I guess I'll do a full *Repair* with the DVD!! Many thanks for your help!!
