August 19, 200916 yr Being new to X-Plane, I have been doing a lot of exploring and have been impressed so far. When I went to the Local Map view, I noticed the accuracy of lakes, rivers, ponds, etc. at least in my home area. Bridges also seem to be in the correct place, as well as roads. The problem though seems to be the accuracy of local streets as well as urban buildings, local streets, and houses. Colors are great, but the placement of urban textures seems generic and random, as they are in FSX with lack of a landclass update which corrects the accuracy of roads and streets, but not local buildings and houses. I also like exploring with Google Earth as well as the map feature on my iphone. That got me wondering is it possible to use this GPS satellite imagery in X-Plane? Then buildings, roads, and landclass would appear just as they are in the real world. Just an idea. Thanks. Tom
