August 19, 200916 yr I have got myself confused about which 737 models I have. It's a while since I flew the 737, since i got excited about the 747, then the 747F and then the MD-11. But the other day i wanted to 'trade down' in size a bit and fly the great 737. My takeoff roll went for 4 miles past the end of the runway, through houses and trees, and since i was flying on VATSIM with a couple of other aircraft waiting for my takeoff, i gave them cause for mirth! So I obviously forgot to set something, but in the course of trying to figure out what i had done wrong, I discovered there are some service updates i haven't applied. That's when i got confused. What updates do i need? I'm sorry but i can't remember what models i have, because i have lots of other freeware repaints etc for the 737 installed too, and its been so long since i installed it all i've forgotten what i had.Which of the following should i make sure i have applied?737TNG V1.2 -> V1.3 Updates the 737TNG V1.2 to V1.3 (you must have V1.2 installed)737-800/900 Model Update Updates your entire 737NG Series to the latest model and VC standards 737-800/900 Service Update 1 Updates the PMDG 737-800/900 to V1.1How can i tell which level of update my 737s are up to? If i look at the aircraft.cfg file of my base PMDG 737-800 it says version 1.0 build 30. Does that reliably tell me it hasnt had any updates applied to it? (i.e. when an update was applied, it would have changed that ID woudn't it?) (I'm sorry if this makes me seem dense, but i have 200 applications of various kinds on my computers, and I can't always remember what I've updated and what i haven't. I apply patches and updates to things several times every week, and ths PMDG737s have been left alone for a while. So i can't remember where i'm up to with them)
August 19, 200916 yr The version is in the readme that accompanies the installer. They can be found in the download zip and in the pmdg folder, one for each variant (the 600/700 base and the 800/900 upgrade). I think I am current and my base is ver 1.30 and the upgrade is 1.10. These date to 2004, so you probably are okay. Those extra long takeoff rolls are usually caused by not setting trim. Easy to forget in the simulation. Dan Downs KCRP
