For the extremely lazy !

Featured Replies

Yesterday, in a fit of terminal boredom, I discovered a new aspect to this 'hobby'. Some may already have tried this, your milage may vary.....I have Ultimate Traffic installed, and while I was admiring the exterior of my new Connie, I sat on the runway too long, and a whole bunch of pilots started yelling at ATC cause they had to go around. While checking the different views available from the FSX main menu, I discovered I could actually select one of the AI planes and would be placed in an external view and it would follow the plane. Needless to say, I spent the next hour or so judging the capabilities of the AI pilots landing at KMIA. I am going to see about landing a job as a AI check pilot now!( I used to have a life, I wish I knew where I left it!)

With Traffic X you get "Spotty" the spotter, complete with flight bag and radio. Flicking through the AI is kind of fun. But it may also be an early symptom of sim saturation :(

I am not sure if lazy if the right word. It is more like bored. You could also speed the sim to 4x or so and let us know how that goes. But first, suck down a couple of cups of strong coffee. This also can enhance your viewing pleasure.Bob

My graphics card really doesn't like it if I flick through the AI traffic although it is interesting to see what else is in the area, particularly if you have UT2. When I eventually return to my own aircraft it can take forever for the textures to reappear properly and I usually have to force a reload to get them all back.

In my case, lazy fits perfectly :( No walk around, no pre flight, no checklists, no flight plan. I just tag along for the ride and watch the scenery, comment on the pilots abilities, call out traffic, etc....... kinda like water skiing behind the boat!

Ok. I am beginning to understand your laziness. Now you could take this a step further. Break out Microsoft Excel and catergorize your checkrides by airline. Break up the columns by phase of flight and rate each flight. In about a week or so, you should have a good idea of what airline you will be most comfortable flying with. Also you could check their on-time record!Bob
