August 23, 200916 yr I notice a lot of traffic on the new Zinertek Ultimate Water Environment for FS9. I have an older set of freeware textures that I changed to years ago. I can't recall whos they are any more. They are working very well for me but seeing all the recent hype on payware stuff I am wondering if I am missing out on something. There seems to be lots of comment which is obviously about individual tastes. I am big on bush flying and floats, like my water to be less glossy than appears in some of these commercial sets. Darker seems to me to be better as well. Can some of you "experts" out there provide me with some candid comments on which set(s) you think are best. If there are any persons with freeware sets, can you advise me on which freeware sets are best in your opinion. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
August 23, 200916 yr I recently had to do an FS9 reinstall, so I sorted through all the freeware water textures all over again. Settled on the Aquarama water...ocean waves aren't too oversized, inland water is realistically dark, late day sun reflections seem about right. Nothing fancy or flashy to grab your attention, but very convincing for me.John
August 24, 200916 yr Author OK I will look that one up.I am facing a reinstall of FS9 as well. I am having all sorts of issues. Hundreds of addons, scenery layers 700 deep, lots of unused gauges and textures, my system is bogging down terribly so thats one reason why I want to look at various issues before getting into the reinstall.I have some many commercial addons that have the configure setup screens and freeware ones as well I just don't know what is working properly now of not.Birds eye View, Holgers Tongass Fjords, Misty Fjords, Vancouver +, UT Can/Alaska, UT USE, UT Europe, VOS etc. All of them swap textures and require some fixes to avoid double shorelines and such. Arg I am not looking forward to this. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
